Ode to black America

This painting was my personal tribute to Afro-American culture, and to commemorate the annual holiday, Juneteenth. The day we remember the official nationwide release of black Americans enslaved when the news reached Galveston, Texas last. In the painting, the woman figure adorns the black American heritage flag covering her eyes. And the Juneteenth flag in the background.
